Also, I'd suggest taking along a GU packet and eating it (with some water...just run where there are drinking fountains) at the 45-60 minute mark. Your body will need the calories, and you need to train your body to eat and digest on the go. You can get GU (or the like) from a nutrition store or a running store. Do NOT eat a protein bar or the like...not for on-the-go consumption.
Finally, NINE MILES! You guys are awesome and totally ready for this!
Ok...this IS the real "finally": I need your current mile pace to create the upcoming track workouts.
Lena and I just completed our 9 miles and we both felt great! It was a good run day for us. Sorry Kate, I timed one of our miles yesterday to get an idea, and then I cleared it this morning before I looked at it. We are pretty consistantly running a 10.30 mile. Sorry it's not faster, but it is what it is!! Happy Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteJill and Lena, sounds like we're averaging the same time! Mind if I run with you gals on race day? :)
ReplyDeleteI just want to thank you again Kate. Jill and I did our 9 miles this morning and it was amazingly easy. Thank you for getting this (just turned) 40 year old in great shape. I am on cloud nine with mile nine!
ReplyDeleteYou guys are doing so fabulously. I've had the easy job of telling you what to do...it's all your mileage that's making the difference. I'm just glad YOU can see the results of all your efforts. 13.1 here we come!
